Five star hotel with great views and fantastic restaurant and bars
Located on the 51st to the 59th floors of the Lebua State Tower, near the Chao Phraya river, guests at the Tower Club are guaranteed unrivalled views of the city. The hotel has a contemporary feel and meets its Five Star rating. The real selling point, however, is the Dome at the top of the Tower on the 60th to 63rd floors which features several top flight restaurants and the famous Sky Bar. They filmed part of the movie Hangover 2 here.
If you are young and hip, in heart at least, you will love this hotel. You even have to be cool (i.e dressed in 'smart causal' to be let in the lounge, bar or restaurant. Nothing wrong with the rooms, they are large and have balconies and all the mod-cons you need, but the real effort has gone into the amenities. On the 52nd floor they have a private lounge where they serve free drinks and snacks all day. In the Dome you have three choices of fine dining. The Sirrocco Bar is on the roof, adjacent to the Sky Bar. The signature restaurant though is Mezzaluna run by renowned chefs Thomas and Mathius Suhring, who nightly conjure up a bewildering array of dishes to be sampled in set menus, including their popular 6 course tasting menus. Book early as this restaurant is popular with the Bangkok elite.
Guests have 6 choices of room. The suites (66sqm) with either city or river Views. The two bed suites (176sqm) or three bed suites (266sqm). One thing we did particularly like about the accommodation is the selection of pillows. What other hotel have you been to where you get a choice of 9. Not sure what a 'Buckwheat' pillow is though, we stick to the Goose Down given the option.
